Biography

Dr. Lauren McKelroy is skilled in medical and surgical dermatology. She enjoys treating a range of dermatologic conditions including acne, skin cancers, psoriasis, alopecia and inflammatory conditions. She treats adults as well as pediatric patients.


She graduated with honors from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then earned her MD from George Washington University in Washington, DC. After graduation, she completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center before heading down south for her dermatology residency at the University of Mississippi.


Dr. McKelroy published in multiple journals during her time in residency including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She also presented at various national dermatology meetings, most notably, the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting in 2016. Dr. McKelroy has a specific interest in medical education and teaching. She won the resident teaching award and gave both a podium talk and a poster presentation on improving resident education at the American Professors in Dermatology annual meeting in Chicago.


Dr. McKelroy is originally from Northern Virginia and loves practicing near her hometown. When she is not practicing dermatology, she enjoys yoga, hiking, finding new restaurants and spending time with her family.
